I wired this piece trying to make a wave but my daughter said it looks like a dinosaur so a dinosaur it is LOL!

This piece is in perfect condition. You can see on the bottom it’s been chipped while tumbling but the chip has been smoothed as well from the tumbling.

HALOA THE SON OF WAKEA

1. We have a fragment of tradition regarding Haloa The first born son of Wakea was of premature birth keiki alualu and was given the name of Haloa naka. The little thing died however and its body was buried in the ground at one end of the house. After a while from the child’s body shot up a taro plant the leaf of which was named lau kapa lili quivering leaf but the stem was given the name Haloa.

2. After that another child was bom to them whom they called Haloa from the stalk of the taro. He is the progenitor of all the peoples of the earth.

I Love Maui! I Love living here, even if it is expensive it’s the most beautiful place in the world and I don’t want to live anywhere else, except maybe Hawaii island.

There’s so much to see and do here. Not too much to discover though but still it’s good here.

The water at Iao Valley stream is super cold and super refreshing! There used to be a lot more water flowing through the streams but with the water diversions going on it’s pretty weak but people, local and tourists alike still Love to go to Iao Valley and feel the cool breezes and breathe in the mystical essence of the place.

This is a photo I took of my daughter walking down the stairs towards the stream.

These are my 2 kids after we ate lunch they sat by the stream and wrote stories about the notes they took.

We, I and my children, find all of our sea glass around the beaches on Maui. We not only find beautiful sea glass but we also find shells (puka shells), and drift wood.

Iao Needle in Wailuku Maui

Lush Garden of Iao Valley

Iao Valley is a place where when you visit you can feel the spirituality and the intense Mana that exists in that valley. The beauty I’m sure you can find elsewhere but here on Maui it is contained within the valley of Iao. Many battles were fought there but it was also the burial ground for many ali’i. When you visit Iao you can capture a glimpse of what it feels like to be at peace with the world around you.

Such was the feeling we experience when we visit Iao. Does it hold more meaning to us because we are of Kanaka Maoli blood? I know not. I’m sure that every race and land has their own intense spiritual landmarks.

If you look to the left you’ll see the Iao Needle, a phallic symbol. If you look to the right you’ll see a valley, a female symbol.

Sunday I took my son to Big Beach and on Monday I took him to Maalaea. Again, even though it was predicted that there would be a south swell, well there wasn’t much but he went out anyway and lo and behold some sets came in and he got a few good rides in that day.

It was a good day, the way I can tell is we stayed there for like 2 1/2 hrs. and it really didn’t feel like it.

I took a couple shots of him surfing and the rest were of beautiful waves coming in. Here’s a shot where I was able to capture a little rainbow coming off the spray.

Check out this empty secluded beach! What a beautiful stretch! This heads towards S. Kihei and the Canoe club place. During the weekend there’s a lot of campers but they mostly go on the other side.

I put my camera on mega zoom and this is the shot I got. I kinda like it. No effects or anything just looks like a lot of light.

I think this would make a good background. This one above.

Faeries play here…

This part of the beach is called Rusty Pipes because the pipes are rusty…heheheh

I collected a lot of sea glass and shells this day too!

Surf on Maui has been pretty dry lately. I’ve been taking my son to Makena, Big Beach and Maalaea lately. Big Beach is pretty nice, it’s got some shore breaks so bodyboarders have to be very careful but my son managed to get some nice waves in and I even saw him do a couple of dk’s although I didn’t get a picture. I had my grandson with me, kinda hard to take pics and hold my grandson, LOL!

Look at that beautiful smile! I Love it!

My son met up with his cousin and a couple of uncles and he really didn’t want to leave but we had to get baby home to his mommy goddess so I had to be firm but he was all nuha (stubborn).

But they were set with their waves AND their music LOL!

My daughter took this pic, she was sposed to take the pic of the radio with the waves but oh well.

My son has really started to take a liking to Big Beach so I think we’ll be going there more often.
